“In-Between” 1

One little “in-between” I would like to share begins with a little back story.

In my younger years I had enjoyed writing stories and aspired to be an author one day. When I was 28, my grandpa sold his cottage in Sodus, NY. My family spent many weekends and sometimes a week since before I was born. The cottage was on an island with other cottages, and it was magical. For me, it was a world away from my Rochester life. It didn’t matter what chaos happened during the week; going to the cottage on the weekend erased all that. There seemed to be endless enjoyment visiting my grandma and grandpa and having my siblings and my made up adventures. When the cottage was sold I immediately starting writing a story about it to remember every little piece of my life visiting there. I didn’t get too far before kids came along and the story was put to the way side. Recently Mike has started writing some pieces for himself. I very much wanted to get back to my story. It has been about eleven years since I touched it and I’m worrying I’m forget things at this point. Michael was able to help me purchase a laptop just before we came to Florida. When we arrive here, I took out the laptop to review my dusty story for the first time since Brennan was born. Instead I found myself creating this blog! Buuuuuut… I found my way to my story a couple days later and all the memories came flooding back like it was yesterday that I started it! God has helped bring back the joy of writing to me through the blog and my story.

This may seem trivial, but to me it is huge! In my younger years I had enjoyed writing stories and aspired to be an author one day. I still would like to publish one book in my life time- even if only 100 people buy it. Haha! This time I will finish the story and have a memory not only for me but for my kids, who will never get to experience going to the cottage. This blog is a way for me to stay connected to everyone, share adventures, and watch how God works in all the areas of our life.
