Faith Journey

This morning we went to the pool and Brennan is now able to swim underwater for short ways. He is so determined to learn how to play in the deep end with his half-fish brother, Julian. Julian was timid of the deep water until he was about 11 and now you would never know it. Haha! And little Priya has caught on fast! She can swim all over the pool following the boys in her vest. She discovered how fun it is to just lie on her back and float while admiring the blue sky.
There was a pivotal moment back in May when we were trying to move where God answered some long-awaited prayers. These prayers were unrelated to our current move, but we wanted these answered before we moved. God’s plan was a game-changer and challenged Michael and me to trust Him no matter what the circumstances looked like. It was intimidating, but I did just that. I trusted Him. I cannot even begin to describe how everything unfolded into this beautiful picture of where our family is currently in life. From that moment I have really trusted God with all the components of our moving process, with the time table for finding a house, and where we will live in the meantime. I have seen Michael grow so much, trusting God in so many areas that used to be hard for him to let go of control.
Why am I telling everyone this? After that pivotal moment, everything was falling into place. I can’t put into words the emotions we were feeling as we watched all this happen. It was at that moment that our life became a true faith journey. I’m not saying we didn’t trust God before, but God strengthened us to trust Him in the hardest moments. Today we stand more surrendered to Him than we have ever been. I’m telling everyone this because this blog isn’t just about our new life experience in Florida. It’s not just about an answered prayer and a few God moments thrown in. This move is a faith journey for us. This is about how we are laying everything down and trusting God with looking at houses, finding a church, finding friends, homeschooling, and ALL the little stuff in between.
With all that said, I would like to share one of those little “in-between” things. Since this post is long, I’ll write in the next post!
